Day Two

12/29/09
I had more of those sick moments with weakness, headache and irritability today but no time to focus on those since I had to pack and fly to St. Louis for work the next 2 days. I was proud of myself for packing cheese sticks, nuts and beef jerky (with less than 3 carbs) in my suitcase to ensure that snacks happen and I don’t get too hungry. The weather here in St. Louis is much better than Oklahoma’s and I got quite a bit of walking in through the two airports but probably not the 30 minutes…closer to 20 min. Breakfast was a low carb yogurt and I did drink two cups of coffee with 1/2 and equal-I love my coffee and 2 cups is my max so, I was so happy to learn that with this plan I did not have to give it completely up. Mid morning I had some almonds. I am drinking more than I am use to and my bladder protests which was somewhat frightening due to the plane ride today. I had to use the restroom in turbulence and “at my own risk” according to the stewardess who did not want me to use the restroom but it was either that or spring a leak! Thankfully I made it without incidence. Once landed and in rental car it was about 1:30 pm and definitely time for a lunch. I stopped at McDonalds and got a Caesar salad and added another chicken breast…I didn’t know you could get those plain for only $1.50 which is great! I felt much better and went into work happy and with over 3/4 of my water down! Had a mid afternoon snack of almonds which I LOVE. I actually ended up drinking 88 oz today but I needed it with all the flying and extra activity…I usually end up dehydrated when I fly. I had to turn down the other corporate ladies invitation to dinner-just don’t feel strong enough yet but hopefully soon! I don’t want to see those bread baskets anytime soon though. For dinner though I was famished and drove through Arby’s for a grilled chicken salad and ordered a turkey bacon ranch wrap but waited until I checked into the hotel and could get on the internet to check the carb content of their wraps. Way too many carbs so the wrap went in the trash-ouch! I put the contents of turkey, lettuce, tomatoes and a little cheddar in the salad. Noted that the dressing they gave me also had over my 5X5 carbs so, I tried the whole thing without any dressing and it was surprisingly filling and good. I will have to bring dressing with me next time. I just finished some late evening peanuts and more water and now I am winding down and not feeling too bad. Had to take some more Ibuprofen for my headaches but hopefully tomorrow I won’t need. I still did not get in the supplements yet but will try to shop for those tomorrow. Some activity but not as much as I think I need. Also, I packed my green tea packets which I am going to try tomorrow-replace 1 of my cups of coffee with the tea and see how it goes. Maybe eventually I will replace both cups of coffee but for now that’s a “no”. Goodnight!
