Day Thirteen

1/9/2010

If I was titling these monologues, it would be something like "Conquering Cooking While on a Diet", which is what I did today. Today is my sister's birthday and although we celebrated last night, I wanted her morning to be special. I had classes to teach at 9am so I got up extra early to get ready and then fixed her a special breakfast...English muffins, scrambled eggs, little jams, peppermint coffee and a cup of herbal tea. Fun for her and fast for me and then I was out the door and running off to class. Oh yes, I forgot to mention I snarfed down some scrambled eggs before I left. Mid morning I had some almonds. At lunch I decided I needed a breather from class and drove around the area just enjoying the slight improvement in tempature (in the 30's vs. >10 degrees) and got a salad from McDonald's with two bottles of water. While I was driving around I had snacked on a mozz stick as well as some cashews. So I ate the cherry tomatoes off the salad and was suddenly full so I left the salad in the car for a mid afternoon snack or early dinner. That plan worked out perfectly because when classes were finished at 3:30, I was able to go and get my oil changed in the car while I ate my salad. Evening plans included dinner out with friends and thankfully it was at a place with an enormous salad bar and so 6:00 pm or so, I ate another large salad! I am home now and a little worn out but have practice for Sunday morning worship at 7:00pm (I lead worship for my parent's church) and so, those salads will have to get me through a few more hours. Day Thirteen was lucky for me! Good night.
