Everyone is predicting a terrible blizzard this afternoon and they were right! I was so stressed trying to finish the trainings in the facility and thinking, "I don't want to be stranded here!!" I set up a hotel at the half way point just in case and started home around 2pm. Once in Tulsa, the storm started to shape up with freezing rain and about an hour outside of Tulsa, I had to stop to knock off all the ice accumulating on my non functioning wiper blades. 2 hours after that I made it home after driving 6 hours and the last hour of it all at 40 mph. I don't plan to leave my driveway for a few days and at this point everything is covered in ice. Tomorrow we are expecting 1/2 - 1 foot of snow on top of that!
Oh yes, what about the diet? That is after all the purpose of my ramblings. Breakfast was in the hotel with scrambled eggs and ham. The nice lady at the front desk obliged my request at check-out and gave me an extra bottle of water. I refilled in the facility (they have the nice water towers with purified water). I lunched after I started my drive home on 2 bunless Angus burgers from McD. So far, the only veggies are a meager few slices of tomato, mushroom and lettuce. In the afternoon, when stopping for gas I felt the exhaustion of needing my snack and got 2 hot dogs/sausages (minus bun). Gross-totally grease and left me nauseous. I did buy 2 bottles of water while there and that helped flush out the grease. Happy to be home that evening, my sister and I started a Star Wars marathon (my favorite part of being "snowed in") and ate large salads with everything good. I had called her with updates on my trip as well as a critical shopping list before we got snowed in. Snacks on peanuts filled in the need for munchies. I developed a tension headache on the way home but thanks to God for Ibuprofen and hot herbal tea, I feel much better and ready for a good night's sleep. Good night!
